Left 4 Dead- Virtual Reality
Posted on
This is Left 4 Dead in Virtual reality using a Wiimote and GlovePIE. Note, Somehow Adobe screwed up the vid and made interframe blending. Also, GlovePIE now supports the Wii MotionPlus, so I could do more accurate scripts and other things using reaction tracking. This isn't the best video, using a cellphone for IRL frameinframe. I've since improved this script and made it to where you tilt the Wiimote up to reload. Also, it'd be in 3d if I weren't making the video.
Video Rating: 4 / 5

@asdfwerqert Bit of column A, bit of column B. At the time I made this they hadn’t implemented Low-Pas filtering, so it was really shakey.

I question how you successfully calibrated them with vuzix’s shitty software

@tfrepl Haven’t played amnesia. Did try dead space, wasn’t really the impressive with the camera being third person an all.

December 27th, 2011 - 13:41

December 27th, 2011 - 14:32

December 27th, 2011 - 15:28
if ipod touch had tv-out glasses with head tracking it would be a full virtual reality system (using the gyroscope in the ipod for aiming)
December 27th, 2011 - 16:12
What about the cord tethering you to the computer?
December 27th, 2011 - 16:14
@MrFlameifrit i wouldnt i would be more paranoid by taking my glasses off after playing this and there is a zombie infront of me!! :L
December 27th, 2011 - 16:21

@321AGK Using VR920 with regular drivers and GlovePIE 0.30. Scripts up somewhere on glovepie.org
December 27th, 2011 - 18:20
Dude did you fuckin do this yourself?
Howwww
December 27th, 2011 - 18:27
@thenesmaster Different type of sensor, senses rotary movement, as opposed to acceleration and magnetic fields.
December 27th, 2011 - 19:06
whats gyro? some sort of firmware?
December 27th, 2011 - 19:24
@timeforastronomy No gyros, which would be smoother and more accurate. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to jam some in myself, but until then it’s on the backburner.
December 27th, 2011 - 19:40
@warlockboyburns Similar, different headset. I’m almost done integrating gyros into the VR920, I should be able to make it much more accurate and less tedious soon.
